Our Kickoff to Kindness started at the beginning of the month and we’ve been so inspired by all of the individuals who have shared their acts of kindness with us! Being kind is an important way of bringing meaning to our own lives. It’s also a great way to bring joy to the lives of others around us. In our previous blog we discussed what you gain from being kind to others. We also provided of ways you can simply be kind right away!
To take things a step further, we’ve compiled a list of additional ways you can be kind to others and yourself! Check out our lists below!
Additional ways you can be kind to others:
Talk – just talk. We are often so busy on our phones or in our own worlds that we don’t stop to acknowledge people. A simple ‘Hello’ or a smile can brighten someone’s day. Take social interaction from online to offline to help contribute and truly engage.
Donate your time or money. There are many charities/causes that need help. Go serve or help out with a donation to make an impact out of your comfort zone.
Let someone cut you in the line. This simple gesture is an extremely powerful way to be kind.
Say Thank You. A lot. Being grateful, especially for the small things is appreciated by everyone.
Stop complaining. When you complain, you are robbing yourself and others of joy. Be in the moment, appreciate it and refrain from making something positive negative.
Additional ways you can be kind to yourself:
Spend 15 to 30 minutes in the morning or evening doing something that uplifts you. Whether it’s reading or another activity, take the time out for yourself.
De-stress. No one wants to walk around with stress on their shoulders. Be kind to your body and mind by letting go of your tensions and stress.
Go to bed early! You need your sleep to function, treat yourself to a real snooze.
